Excess baggage for trip to South Korea

Posted by: Abigail Lee

What is the best way to get extra bags to South Korea? We are going on an extended vacation to visit my husband's relatives there. I know we should be traveling light, but I want to make sure I have everything I need to be comfortable while I am there. It is my first trip to South Korea and my husband has not been there since he was very little, so I am a little unsure what to expect. We also want to take some gifts and things with us for his family. Stuff that they maybe can't get there or little personal items for his grandparents, stuff like that. I have heard that it can be cheaper and easier to ship you extra baggage rather than pay some crazy airline fee for each extra bag. Is that true? I am also worried that the stuff I send will end up stuck in some kind of customs limbo and I won't be able to get to it for a long time. Anyone know what I should look out for?
